Central Park--Cherry Hill, New York, US-NY, 8-Oct-2012

12:30 PM - 12:50 PM
Protocol: Traveling
0.5 mile(s)
Comments: Back to Central Park during a weekend visit; after a parula the day before Kim & I came back, this time I had my binoculars & my birding head on.
Weather: bright, but cloudy; cool.
10 species

Chimney Swift 30 or so, overhead obviously.
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1 on crawling up the trunk of another tree, just after the kinglet. Red crown and throat, distinctive look. Life-tick.
Tufted Titmouse X
White-breasted Nuthatch X
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 high in a large tree, moving about quickly, warbler-like but with slightly different look. A pale eye-ring, prominent eye, and different 'jizz' enabled my id without seeing the ruby-crown. Life-tick.
Hermit Thrush 4 approx.
Eastern Towhee X - a few foraging in the leaf litter with the white-throated sparrows.
Song Sparrow X
White-throated Sparrow 20 + in the long grass and leaf litter.
House Sparrow X
